Amanda Wulke, MSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

(She/Her)

I believe in a person-centered approach that meets you where you are, wherever that might be. I know that taking the first step to starting therapy can be an incredibly hard one and I want nothing more than to support you along your journey with compassion, honesty, and genuine care.

I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, as well as families.  I strive to create a therapeutic space that is open, affirming, and without judgement. Together we will work as a team to explore areas for reflection, healing, and growth.

I have specialized training in Dialectical Informed Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and family therapy. I am also a body-positive, intersectional, LGBTQAI+ affirmative therapist and a U.S Army veteran.

Individual Counseling

I work with individuals to assist in the areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, self-image, relationships, life transitions, and stress.

I utilize the tools of trauma-informed care, self-compassion, and Dialectical Informed Behavioral Therapy to assist clients with these challenges. Additional approaches are integrated into sessions to best meet each client’s individual needs.

Dialectical Informed Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral treatment effective in treating a wide range of areas such as substance dependence, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and eating disorders.

While working together, we will focus on the four guiding principles of DBT: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance to build effective, healthy coping skills that will assist you in addressing intrapersonal and relational conflict.

Teen/Family Counseling

I have extensive experience helping teens coping with depression, anxiety, and traumatic events.  I also enjoy supporting the parents dealing with the stress, worry, and parenting during this amazing yet challenging time.

DBT, as described above, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) are very helpful for teens and their families as they aim at addressing the challenges of PTSD and other difficulties related to traumatic life events.

DBT and TF-CBT also effectively addresses many other side effects of trauma, including depression, anxiety, cognitive and behavioral problems, as well as improving the participating parent’s or caregiver’s personal distress about the adolescent’s traumatic experience, effective parenting skills, and supportive interactions with the adolescent.

I look forward to working with you and your family.  Feel free to reach out with any questions.
